LITTLE GIANT
Founded in the 1970s by Hal Wing, Little Giant Ladder is the preeminent manufacturer of American-made ladders. Wing, while deployed to Germany by the United States Army, met the German inventor of Little Giant’s predecessor. Once back home in Utah, Wing created Wing Enterprises in order to import the ladders to the US, taking them to trade shows as well as selling them locally.
The success of the ladders was so great, eventually Wing secured patents on the design in the US and purchased a small office building for the fledgling business. Today, Little Giant dominates the ladder industry and has patents worldwide.
Fun Fact: Wing and his family originally built and sold Little Giant ladders themselves in their garage.
